SIYAN HUANG

Hi, my name is Siyan! I'm a video producer and director who tells human stories for mission-driven organizations.

My path started in documentary. I grew up in Shanghai, fell in love with National Geographic films, and came to Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, where I reported on health, gender, and social justice internationally. My capstone documentary, Segunda Vida, a 16-minute film about a Chicago woman fighting Puerto Rican officials who send citizens to the U.S. for unlicensed drug treatment, was screened at the American Documentary Film Festival in April, 2018.

​​I went on to work at Kartemquin Films and on CNBC's American Greed, then freelanced for Rebuild Foundation, Food Insider, Vital Proteins, and Kaiser Health News, and later produced social video and digital ads at Fever. Today I'm a Creative Producer at Children's Miracle Network, where I lead the National Champions video campaign from concept to delivery — developing content strategy, directing interviews and field shoots with hospital partners nationwide, and shaping the final story in the edit.

Outside of work, you'll find me rock climbing with friends and photographing it.
